Displaying more Thumbs per page

Based on my last thread about bulk uploads and having them displayed in decending order on the thumbs page I had another thought.

Some people have mentioned how it's frustrating having to click page after page if a series has a lot of images (50+). May I suggest that we could add more than 12 images on each thumbnail page? Maybe 18 per page (if using three across)?

Some of my larger collections are arranged chronologically and I'd like to maintain a flow by having as many pictures per page as possible. I've also heard that for people who display their cels be character (within 1 gallery), visitors prefer to skip to their favourites quickly. Having more images on each thumbs page would help there too.

I appreciate that there could be an issue with download speeds if visitors are on dial-up, trying to view many large thumbs on a page. Thats why I make my thumbs 100x70 pixels; DL time isn't too much. Perhaps there could be a file size restriction on the thumbs if you're displaying more than 12 on a page? I don't know if this is too complicted Jason, don't want to give you a headache!

Download speed is set to take a huge increase across the board. Sometime in the next two months (I hope), we're planning on moving the server to a new space. This will cause RS to go down for a day or two, but I'll make an announcement way in advance.

As far as the thumbnail thing goes, I'll add an 18 and 24 choice. This one is easy.... but normally, I'm staying away from working on the current site as it's all going away (when I find time to actually work on the site, it's been busy lately and all I can really do is respond to forum and e-mail issues before going back to work).

Fixed, let me know if it works as I'm not going to bother to test it. (Told you it was easy.)

Cheers for that Jason, I didn't expect you to come up with that so soon! I've used the 18 images option and I think it looks great, the rows of thumbs fit on my monitor screen perfectly and it certainly cuts down on the page count.
Just want to reiterate that we appreciate your hard work on the RS design/coding Jason. The new servers will be exciting and I appreciate that you won't do many more updates till the new hosting is complete. We know your time is precious too so thanks again for your efforts!

I prefer for each section in my gallery to have just one page of thumbs to avoid the getting bored going through page after page thing.
I am getting near the 12 thumb limit on a couple of sections and I have a load of cels to scan and upload soon and I was wondering how to sort it out.
