Cels:Do you display, frame or store 'em?
For the most part mine are stored cases...I do on occasion frame the ones I like best. I've got some in a display book which also works really well...
All of the above.
I have a couple framed (about to get a couple more framed), some displayed at work, and the rest in those plastic art boxes that Celga shiped my cels from YJ to me in.
I don't look at my cels, etc, as an investment or assets. I just look at them. More often lately, because I've been out of money, and will be starting a payment plan for a lovely 'spensive cel in a couple of days! (Woot!)
...sold my soul.... wahahahaha (somewhat gleefully)
I only have 3 cels right now, all in frames. I bought several record album frames to use for basic cels and some 11 x 14 frames for those with backgrounds. Nothing stuck, nor have I heard of DiC cels doing that... maybe DiC used different paints? I have 5 more empty frames waiting but I have a number of cels on their way to me... some will have to get boxed.
My room is lit with a low-watt flourescent bulb and gets little sunlight.

I frame my favorites, and ones I pay $300+ for so they are in a nice safe archival frame done by a dealer that has the experience, plus so it can be put on display. But wall space is limited and with many good ebay deals piling up I find myself needing to start a binder of my own.
Also, mostly collecting american animation that's xpensive, I don't plan to have a huge amount of cels. Like Secret of NIMH, they usually run $300-400, which is low compared to most american art. But still, due to that I don't just buy any cel I come across from that, even some deals at $150 on ebay. I wait until I find the perfect cel and go all out on it and frame it to be proudly displayed. So I don't plan to have like 10+ from the same film, maybe 4 at the most to capture at least most the characters.
In a way I feel it's better putting more money into one great cel than to get several so so cels. Like the one I use in my ID.
most of my production cels are in 2 cel books. the cels in my anime room hanging on the wall made by vance hu haven't shown any line fading since the lines are hand painted so no worries there for 14 years now. the framed cels and sketches all have acid free mats or backing and the one window in the room is also curtained to prevent direct lighting. overall they haven't changed much thru 10+ years eventhough i don't air out the cels in their cel bags or rotate the cels that are framed. i do have a photo album of all the cels and sketches i have if i want to look at them all by my computer. other than that i just need to dust and vacuum the room more often.
