call for admins

Nominate any Rubberslug member for an admin position. I'll choose just by endorsements and nominations in this thread. Also, someone whom I've corresponded with in the past gets mucho bonus points.

I have a few in mind already, but I'd like to hear from you all.

What does an admin do?

For now, you pretty much just stand around and look admin-y. Report errant cel galleries. Answer questions about the site here and anywhere else. It's more of an official "RS booster" position than an admin position -- for now.

Once we lockdown the server for the cel marketplace and other things currently in development, admins will get a moderate increase in power/responsibility. Totally voluntary, of course.

As at least one of the admins, I want the smartest darn DBZ expert we have here to help validate cel claims. I will need your assistance in identifying one or two.


Why would you want to become an admin?

- Some sort of admin labels for your gallery, gallery listing, and feature images.
- Increased probability of your feature rolling around to the top. Let's say, oh, triple the chance. (Complete with shiny "ADMIN" gold star.)
- Ability to refer to yourself in the third person.
- Warm fuzzy feeings.

If you can suggest any other perks, let me know.

I would nominate myself but Im too few to RS and I suck, but due to there never being anything to do late at night, I think I'll surf for illegit galleries. Wow one big sentance. Well what the hey, I do nominate myself only because since I dont know any one here cept for the owner of S.H.A.C.--version 2.0-grove -- I feel i can be fair towards everyone. Other than that, I just have about 3-4 hours free at night that I can sift through sites ect if ya needs the help. Also, this is the wrong section, but for a suggestion to add to the gallery might be a list of logged in members who have been to your site? Just a idea....

Just thought I might make a suggestion, not really a nomination...
But you might want to make them "moderators" rather than "admins". I think the term admin implies that they have the ability to make core changes to the site (alter code, grant permissions that sort of thing) where as moderators help out with forum and site monitoring. They watch posts and users and keep everyone on the up and up and report nastiness beyond their control to the admin(s).

I know they are just labels, but it might help in making their position clearer to the general user community... ^_^

I'm not too familiar with the message board/IM generation. I think the last time I spent quality time with anything resembling a modern IRC client was when I still had a 2400 baud modem. *shuffles away sadly to the uncool corner*

This is mostly about DBZ....

So, from my experience of DBZ collectors I would say that these 3 galleres (owners) here on RS immediately stand out as very capable:
