DOOM the movie.. Aug. 2005!

I'm still going .. "Ford is BLACK!?" which isn't a bad thing or anything.. just .. not what Douglas Adams wrote. He's supposed to be really pale, with orange hair and a smile that's just a bit too wide, showing just a few too many teeth.

.. I sass that hoopy Ford Prefex.

On the face of it, a Doom movie would be spectacular. But when I hear that it's an American 'Hollywood' film starring 'The Rock' and that the scriptwriters are making it too believeable, I'm feeling bored already.
Doom 1-3 are amazing games and it's that 'look' I'd find the production crew having difficulty making. A $70 million budget is sickening because we know it'll be wasted on the actors salery rather than the storytelling aspects.

Doom could be a stunning short film with unknown actors- the money should be spent on monster effects, costumes/props and a dedicated crew who want to make a fantasy/sci-fi movie without thinking about pleasing the corporate bosses and mass audience. A lot is to be said for cult independant film making. That's my opinion anyway ^__^
