"Under Repair"
When people close their galleries for whatever reason as opposed to it being banned:
People that go to the URL.. get popped out to the RS page, no info. (Or am I wrong about that?)
How about...
a.) Redirecting to a generic "This gallery is currently under construction" page.
b.) Use one of the feature gallery images, and a label with the same thing.
c.) a better idea if you have one.
For now, if someone closes his/her gallery they are "missing in action"... or don't exist to potential surfers out there in Google land.

If we're talking about the same thing, a closed cel gallery will still show up at the same URL. It's just that it won't be listed in the regular Rubberslug Cel Gallery list.
I think it's a handy thing to use if you feel like you want your cel gallery to available to some people, but not too many. ^_^

Yeah, but what if you want it closed, And I mean closed.. to everybody.. I guess you can't do that if someone has your URL.. And you think it is closed to the world, aka.. "Under Construction"
Yipes!
Hmm.. is this true jn?
Hmm.. in all this time I never even realized that little-loop-hole. It is like taking a shower with the curtain closed only to discover --- Not to everyone it's not!
Jason are you reading to this? =)

"Closing" a gallery simply delists it from the gallery pages and when you add a new cel to the closed gallery it will not show in the update section.
Blog posts do show on the homepage, interestingly enough, so I haven't used my RS blog for that reason.
The people who have the URL for the closed gallery can still see it. The only way to completely hide a gallery is to change the URL.

Like Kitt said...if you really want your cel gallery inaccesible except to those you want to see it all you have to do is close your gallery and then change your cel gallery's name to something other than your exact screen name. Then the only people that can see it are the mods unless if you give someone the new URL to where it is or someone guesses the URL through trial and error (not likely).
I prefer to do it this way instead of using a password to hide them because passwords tend to do bad things like tempt and irritate other people when they know it's there, but can't see it. Doing it the other way doesn't bother people much because your cel gallery just doesn't show up anywhere to raise those sorts of curiousity/anger problems. ^_^
