reference: your top ten favorites

well here are 10 that I really enjoy at the moment(ask me in a weeks time and I will probably have some others to add)

Samurai Champloo - great series good action scenes and the use of a hip hop soundtrack really works.

Elfen Lied - great story and character design but a little violent and a lot of bloodshed.

Hunter X Hunter - I absolutly love HXH I found the story very intriging also some great characters.

Yu Yu Hakusho - Good action some excellent moments of humour.

Tenchi Muyo OVA - I think this is a wonderful Anime each episode is excellent some very subtle moments of humour but then again rather a lot of slapstick as well.

Naruto - To be honest I have only been watching this for a few episodes but I am really enjoying it.

Akira - This is where it all started for me so it will always have a special place in my heart.

Full Metal Alchemist - whats not to like about this series I still have about 15 eps to go but Im loving it.

Fooly Cooly - Strange but very compelling

and not forgetting Dragonball Z

I'd have to agree with what was said about "Samurai Champloo". I'd have to say that the series probably has one of the best first episodes of a series I have ever seen.

I wouldn't recomend it or put it on my favorite list right now because I haven't seen all of it. Personally, I hate it when people recommend a series with only having seen a couple of episodes(the owner of my local shop is really bad about this)...

I just got a chance to see "Now and Then, Here and There", but didn't really care for it. It seemed that a lot of messed up things happened to Shu and Sara for no real reason. I kind of feel that the series was just kind of there. I have been told that I would have been better off watching "Saikano" instead...

I think that "Akira" really deserves to be on my list, but I get so much flak from people who I mention it to. The main complaint I get is that the ainmation is "crap". I think people don't see how much effort was put into making "Akira". I think a lot people that didn't get into anime when I did don't appreciate some of the older stuff...

I think I also agree with the "Nadesico" comments. I think a lot of people will like it if they just watch it. I have found that a lot of the people who I have made watch it found it too silly at first. I figure that if I can get a friend into "Nadesico" who had only really seen "Riding Bean" and GSC, then almost anybody should be able to get into it...

hmmm...it's a good idea, I've already got my top 5 favorites listed in my gallery. My top ten?
1.) Yu Yu Hakusho
2.) Final Fantasy Unlimited, I know this wasn't necessarily a popular one, but I absolutely loved it. There are some nice game references as well as some really wonderful characters.
3.) Naruto
4.) Full Metal Alchemist
5.) Escaflowne
6.) (Gee...didn't realize it be this hard to go on....) X/1999 (series)
7.) Saiyuki
8.) Samurai Troopers
9.) Wolf's Rain
10.) DBZ

That about sums it up ^_-!

this was hard, narrowing it to ten theres a lot of series I like for one aspect or another (but might not like the whole thing) they are in no particular order and only listed series that are not partway through.
COWBOY BEBOP- I mean this sereis was great, I have no problems reccomending this to non anime watchers. like the art, humor, story, even the end (i'll post why in my weblog-to avoid spoilers)

GUNDAM WING- Ok for gundam series this is style over substanance, but its what got me back into anime liked several of the characters, the suits designs

BIG O-I mean it's able to combine batman, godzilla, metropolis into one show. the animationg varies throughout the series but i liked the story always kept you guessing what was really going on just wish they would continue it.

LODOSS (ova)- fills my sword and sandel(d&d,lotor, whatever else you want to put here) like the art in the show and the characters

GHOST IN THE SHELL- masumune shirow, a plot that made you think (I like the new incarnations too) this movie influenced many a peices to follow

VAMPIRE HUNTER D- left hand and his dry wit beautiful art that turned me onto the char artist

MACH GO GO GO- yep speed racer if nothing else than for racer-x. I think that started my love of the older brother anti hero character. (like the good bad guy)plus who wouldn't want to take the shooting star or mach 5 for a spin around the track.

CAT SOUP-bizzare, surreal, visualy entertaining good way to spend a half an hour

BERSERK-violent, faustian and ends leaving you wanting more

EX DRIVER- fun series, short, great car designs

TOTORO-just a cute movie

the list is kinda bland but there are so many to choose from and a lot of other titles missed out just barely sorry kita kita
