What's the policy on x-ratings
This is not a rant about the evils of pornography, I myself have a rather extensive collection. So with that said, what is the official Rubberslug policy on cels showing rather explicit sex? I often send folks to the galleries to browse around so they can get a good idea about where all my money goes. Yesterday the son of my coworker age 13 comes across a cel that well, he really shouldn't have been able to see. I'm not talking a bit of boob, this was serious. I don't want to sound like Tipper or anything but should I stop sending kids to the site?
Last I saw you are not allowed to post hardcore hentai stuff on RS. I cant seem to find where it said so though, either in the FAQ or when you create a gallery it says. What sites your sending these people to? I ask because I collect from a series called Dragon Pink, it dosnt show anything tooooooo serious like some other series. But I am looking for certain cels from DP. As to sending kids to sites like that, I would have to say maybe stop. Could get into some trouble doin that.
Howdy.
I've been doing some reading recently, and it turns out that I'm actually not responsible for anything you post under the DMCA (Digital Millenium Copyright Act). I think. No one really likes the *rest* of what the DMCA says -- and neither do I.
That being said, the standing policy here is no hentai. However, 99% of people who like violating simple policies like "don't post stuff that isn't yours" don't bother to read these message boards or the FAQ. Since you thankfully took the time to read both of these, I will offer this concession: Whatever you have, you may put it on your site under password lock. However, the instant I get one person who wants to spoil your parade, I will ask you to take it down at your convenience. Fair enough?
Contrary to what the guidelines displayed when you make a site would have you believe, I don't think that images/text/speech is "dangerous" by itself. Sharp pointy knives are dangerous. Molten lava is dangerous. On the other hand, RS is a donation-supported site. So, we attempt to act in the best interest of the majority.
Hope this provides useful insight on the policies around here.

Foechadan,
I realized after reading again that I didn't answer the question. My apologies.
To make a long story short, this is why we have a standing policy. I don't want some parent of some 13-year old kid calling our ISP and telling them we're peddling toon smut. As a worst case scenario, it's not a stretch of the imagination.
The whole concept of RS is to put a good spin on cel collecting as a mature subgenre of popular, contemporary art. This certainly does not help.
I don't know what severity of alarm was sounded (and I hope you didn't get in any trouble with the coworker), but I'd be happy to open a conversation with your coworker to assure him/her that the vast majority of us are on the level -- young professionals, both men and women, with reasonable standards of censorship.
Also, if you give me the URL of the site with the cel in question I can ask them to take it down.

The coworker in question exhausted his ire by yelling at me so no real damage done, and when I posted I was just irritated that it happened. His son is a huge Dragonball fan so I recommended the site and during his travels he started browsing other series, and hit the jackpot. I really feel that I have no right to demand that people remove cels from there galleries I?ll just be more careful about my disclaimers when I recommend rubberslug.
