Are we allowed to have music
Hi I was wondering if we were allowed to have music. The music wouldn't be offensive, its just a mozart concerto I'm playing, I think it would complement my gallery nicely. Thanks
I would vote no myself, I hate webpages with music on them - especially when browsing on dial-up or on break at work
I can't prevent you from loading music onto your page, but as a professional developer -- and as an amateur musician -- I have never seen any website use music to its benefit in about 10 years of having an Internet connection. I think the only time when music on a webpage has been borderline amusing was when the person creating the page **knew** how incredibly annoying music on a webpage was and decided to exploit that fact **and** used the music as the content (can you say dancing hamster?).
I could write an impromptu thesis on the matter, but I'll stop here. Music is possible, but not recommended. Pink on green with yellow accents is possible, but also not recommended for the same reason.
We're not in the business of policing bad taste though, so if you think you've found a music angle for a webpage that hasn't been done, go ahead.
Music on a website is a bit like a musical birthday card.
It takes 0.12 seconds before they get annoying.
