Cel info under cel....eeeek

Heya,
I really liked the cel info better when it was to the right of the cel. It seemed a little more balanced. Is there a specific reason for the new change? JMHO, thanks!

The old way it works, a cel over 12" wide would put the cel info under the cel. However, I started to realize that people don't like having 350 pixel wide cel images.

I can put it back. It's one line of code, and I kept the old version just in case. I always thought that the current layout was a little cramped.

It's about to get shelved anyway. The new layout engine will allow you to move blocks of stuff around, like the cel info, the image, etc. The new version of the site is in a holding pattern until I get some real, paying work for myself though.

I guess I should have kept it the way it was and just explained why the cel info moves around. At least you can force it to put cel info under the cel by simply writing in an absurdly false width, like 110.5" instead of 10.5".

If anyone else has any pressing thoughts about this, let me know. I'm going to change it back tomorrow when I wake up I guess. I need a nap first.

Well, it doesnt kill me or anything, I just liked it better the old way. I dont have many pan cels, so I dont know what you mean by the cel moving around. Whatever is easy for you though, you're the one who makes the site work :). Cant wait to see the newer additions, RS is really looking good! You may be a millionaire someday Jason, this could catch on!

I have a number of Oversized cels that are oversized vertically, and wouldn't exceed 12" width. I like to have larger scans for the OS ones, so I supposed I'll just put my measurements in centimeters or something.

Whatever, if everyone besides myself wants the old way, with squashed tiny images, that's fine.

John,

Yep. Sorry about that bud. I did actually get a number of e-mails along the lines of, "Hey! Why'd this change?"

I, for one, prefer the info under the cels since it allows for bigger scans. But, as it goes around here, it's up to the general member public to decide how things work and I try to keep my nose out of it and just code whatever is popular.

This will be taken into consideration for the "new" version, although I've been talking about the "new" version of the site so much without any real solid info that I'm sure that I just sound like a crazy person.

Right after I finish my self-promotion work, RS (and a general purpose spinoff based on the same engine) gets my attention until Christmas.
