feedback system
Howdy.
Today's mysterious feature-in-progress question:
"How would you customize the eBay feedback system for cel collectors?"
... or stated otherwise ...
"What are the most important things you want to know about a cel dealer before you make a purchase that you can't tell from a scan?"
My thoughts on this:
* Overall Score - A composite score of transaction and dealer score. Transaction score will be worth more.
* Transaction Score - a sum of +/- transactions, like eBay
* Dealer Score - an overall impression, 1-10
* Cel Quality - average quality of merchandise
* Customer Service - how well they respond to questions
* Cel Selection - perceived dealer ability to get high-quality merchandise
* Dealer Activity - the length of time dealer has been making a positive impression (you don't want to deal with someone who has a million feedback points but an account life of 3 days, for instance). Calculation method for this one will be secret to avoid min/maxing.
This will be directly incorporated into the site in the near future. I won't say too much about it right now, but you can probably guess why this is important. Any other ideas? Should any of the ones above be removed?

Min/maxing = "ballot stuffing". It's an role-playing game term I didn't even realize I threw in. It describes the process of tweaking your character's numbers (in an obsessive manner) once you know all the formulas for optimal stats.
Sorry about that.
