Stolen Images
What should I do? I joined a Yahoo Group and found that this group owner had stolen my Gallery logo and 5 of my cel images from my Rubberslug gallery. I mean the guy didn't even change name of the images when he copied them from my gallery and uploaded them to the photo section of his group.
I already asked him once to take down the images, but he banned me from the group. What is my next action?
Thanks!

My gosh. This stuff is rampant. Do these people just not understand cel ownership? When you own something completely flat, stealing a scan of it is a step of the way towards actually stealing it. 0_0 For example, when they use a picture of a painting in a book, they have to get permission from the person who owns it. It's a flat thing. An image. Similar concept.
Working on it. The image splitting/scaling thing is turned on by default now, although you can turn it off from "gallery settings" in your member home page.
After I get "click small image to zoom" functionality working, medium-size images will be limited to 300 pixels wide. I'd like to find a way to also find a way to flag large horizontal cels as "extra-wide" so that those can scale to something like 500. Clicking on these will produce full-size scans. You will be able to password-protect full-size scans if you want, but this will be off by default.
Smaller scans + password protection of large scans should help you folks discourage the kids from wanting to take scans.

Can you maybe ask yahoo to take it down for you? Just tell them that you own the image, give them proof that it is yours (scan the back of the cel) or somehow give them a bigger image) hopefully they will respond...if that doesn't work....tell them that you'll sue 'em....
Tell me what the Yahoo! group is... I'll go play a bit..
