Our search function
I was wondering jn if there is a way to limit the amount of updates to the same gallery showing up for one gallery when a search was done? Since only the first 50 results appear a lot of galleries are being blocked out of the results displayed.
I just noticed when I did a search for "dragonball", out of curiosity, I saw the same gallery appearing 16 times, but had only updated in 8 sections recently on their gallery. I don`t know why someone would need 26 different classifiers for DB/DBZ/GT :-O --but to each his own, I guess.
Still 16 listings appearing for a search query for one gallery out of 50 possible results, seems to be a bit much. If there are only 50 results that can be displayed, that is about one-third of the results listed for one site alone. And how many DBZ collectors do we have here anyway?! Tons.. or Tons of Tons..
So, any DBZ/GT collectors that don`t upload in around a months time, don`t make the cut. (Jan.20th..)
Of course, I cannot complain.. I don`t collect DBZ/GT. My majors always stay on board so to speak search-wise, since they are obscure and not mainstream. Anyway, just thought that I'd bring it up to anyone concerned about why more stuff doesn't appear when conducting searches dilemma.

OMG! I totally never realized that we were only seeing some of the listings for a category, since I fall under the same category as you E, I don't collect from most of the really popular series. I hope it can be changed so that we see them all, like I always thought it was to begin with.
I often search for a series when I have recently seen it or am becoming interested in it and rubberslug is the best place to do this. But, I guess the galleries that haven't updated in a long while aren't getting seen, huh?
Mmmm, I always meant to work on the search function more, but I suppose it never bothered me because I only search for things that very few people collect anyway.
We should be able to get images to show up on the search engine an opt-out basis. It will show only thumbnails and make it so that people have to visit your site if they want to know more. I also still need to program a "universal" series list so that you can associate a particular cel with the official "Dragonball Z" catagory to make sure it falls in the right place in the index.
I need to optimize it pretty well though because if it works that well, it might end up being the primary way in which people who come to this site look at cels.
