Cels at Anime Conventions
At all the anime conventions I've attended, I've never really payed close attention before (being too busy with my cosplay and all that jazz), but do many booths in the dealers room sell cels?
Also, one of my friends was mentioning that sometimes cel collectors gather at cons to talk about/show their collections. Do people actually do this? Would it be worth it for me to take my cels on roadtrips to conventions?
Just wondering...
Oh, and on a side note: is anyone attending Katsucon in VA in February?
Asylum Anime was at Sugoicon and they had a ton of cels including things not on their site. There were also a couple others with a few pithy bookfuls I had already seen on the Internet. Sugoi is big enough for the area, but I'm sure a really big con has a lot more cels than that.
Yes, most cons have cel dealers ready for the hordes of rabid cel fans. Every time I go to the dealer's room, there's a mob wherever there are cel dealers, a good hint where the booths that sell them are. ^_^
And yes, many cons will have a panel devoted to the topic of cel discussion. If there isn't for some freaky reason, you can request one via email. I'm sure you won't be the only one who is interested!
OT- Yay, another person who likes to cosplay! Try going to the cel panel in costume, it'd definitely draw attention. ^_~
Hmmm...I'll have to check Katsucon's list to see if there's a cel panel or not. Since one of my costumes is the red chess queen from Miyuki-chan in Wonderland, it would go well with all my Miyuki cels...*hehehe*
