I mostly agree... fingers and toes are crossed.
I am not too impressed with J.C.'s writing credentials (I was one of those people that was unimpressed with Titanic, except for the F/X), but you never know... maybe he has taken some writing and development classes, Terminator 2 wasn't all that bad actually--it isn't difficult writing for Arnold, but "The Abyss" in my opinion was awful..
Good ideas wrapped in bad writing.
But, I say the same thing about George Lucas.. why on earth does he insist on writing that crappy dialogue for Star Wars? We probably will never know why they just don't hire excellent and professional screenplay writers to flesh out their ideas, for them. The Star Wars anime is actually not too bad, considering the episodes only last 5 minutes and aren't really fleshed out, at least I don't yawn every other minute.
GUNNM is not so popular amongest the anime world geekdom, so maybe he'll just piss me and a dozen or so others off by making it ;-)
On the other hand, since he has not made anything in years, let's hope he feels his reputation is at stake and will produce something great.. this poor fan's clinging hope..if he decides to go ahead with this project.
