Help I think I bought a fake cel

Can't say off the top of my head I have but I have seen some truly weird things in my years of collecting. And it's the truly weird things that usually assure me the authenticity of the piece.

One of the best ways to tell is the screenshot test, if you know the episode # and scene you can sometimes find your exact cel, sans fading but you should still be able to see the most glaring corrections onscreen.

I've never encountered that kind of technique, but it doesn't surprise me at all. Yes, weirdness abounds in the cel collecting world. It's like I said, forgers will usually take a very straightforward approach when faking a cel, and try to make it look as flawless as possible. I think you've got a winner here. :)

Thank you Kino and Jadeduo, once again. I feel much better about it now that experienced cel collectors like yourselves have confirmed that the oddities I noticed actually can crop up on perfectly authentic cels.
