Facebook Group for collectors!

2016.11.28

One FB cel group is certainly ideal instead of numerous small uncoordinated groups. Unfortunately thus far none of these group owners/mods appear to agree to consolidate into one group.

I don't think anyone knows who actually owns the RS or AB pages so getting the owners together seems impossible.

The other pages the Dragonball Cel Collectors is nice because it is only to talk about Dragonball and the DBZ fandom is an interesting and crazy place and we can go on and on and on... I like the one I posted, because of the generic Cel Collector groups it is the most active I don't know the other one, but I think it was started by the owner of the DBCC page, because he noticed that not everyone on DBCC collects only Dragonball. I don't mind, being part of both on Facebook because it notifies me every time someone posts something, and it keeps the conversation lively and interesting.

Also instead of slogging through old posts and buggy forums, anyone can ask for help, offer advice, and post updates; and everyone will see it immediately, instead of waiting for several days for someone to wander in from lurker mode to post the answer to a question. Cause let's face it, the quietness in the forums lately makes this hobby feel dead when it is still pretty vibrant, but you have to move to the other platforms.

That's what we were saying, the one you posted first and the first group Momo mentioned are the same group, it just grew since you first mentioned it (which is good!). That's the only one I joined, aside from the AB/RS group, since it's the largest cel collecting group.

If somebody wants to make a group dedicated to a specific anime in cel collecting, because there isn't one already, that's one thing. But it just doesn't make sense to have 4, 5, 6, etc groups on FB that are all based on general cel collecting. What's the point in having so many groups that all have the same focus? It just makes more sense to join the biggest one and make it more active, and you don't need to own it or be an admin of the group to liven it up and help promote it.

I actually run D.C.C with the new version of A.C.C along with another admin, we created D.C.C solely for Dragonball cel collectors, we considered creating groups for other series but that would be chaotic with the amount of management and various other reasons. Before being banned from 'Animation cel collectors' an admin said to me '' This group is mostly close friends not a big group. and we frown upon the large groups, and not a fan of seeking members out of our small little one, but good luck''. So that group as a whole is pointless for joining as they seem to be a tight-nit community who just want to keep to themselves rather than expand with other collectors. If you want a current, active group then check out this one if you haven't already.

Yay, I can post again. I was getting a redirect some time ago.

So yeah, I joined the anime beta and RS group just now also. Good luck with all the groups. =)
