Bags vs Books
I'm new to cel collecting and am trying to find the best way to store them. I've seen advice, where they say they should be put in cel bags and then stored in cel books or binders. I have seen where they say to hang the books so they don't crush each other and they will also receive air. But I am confused if they are bagged won't they be sealed and not receive air. Any help clearing this up would be very grateful.
Thank you for replying. When putting them in the box should they be bagged?
Hi,
The cel should always be bagged. The bags help to keep fingerprints, dust etc off the cel. When bagging cels it is recommended that you do not seal the bag. This allows the paint to vent / breathe which studies show, pro-long the life of your art. The B4 cases are really cool if you are only going to collect under ten cels in your life time or if you are taking some cels somewhere ie convention. If you plan on having a larger collection it is more feasible to use the art books like itoyas. I use top loaders as well for some of my collection. You place the art in a bag, board if needed, slide them in the top loader and store them in Vaultz security boxes. I would encourage you to try different methods and see which you like best. Just remember to keep the cels bagged. Take Care. - Matt

Treker10,
I have a spare itoya (little dusty) and an extra B4 case I can spare. Contact me through my feedback and I will send those out to you. Those should give you an idea of two of the systems that are used. - Matt
