Probem "restoring" items

Hi,
I've had items in the trash for a long time that I want to restore. After I hit "restore," the series name comes up in my gallery but when going to the gallery page, nothing shows up, even though they are listed as "live" when I work in my account. So, unless I make all new items, I can never really "restore" the old ones...any advice? Thanks.
