Callaway FT-IZ Driver
The Callaway FT-iZ throws all of the best aspects of Callaway drivers into one package. It’s target player is the mid to high handicap golfer but there is also a Tour model out there for the better player. That review will come next.

The Callaway FT-iZ driver features a Hyperbolic face for explosive and consistent distance of most of the club face. This “Cup Face” design is then fused to a woven carbon fiber body. Having the face welded to the body of the club not only provides a much larger sweet spot on the club face, but fused with the carbon fiber body gives an outstanding feel at impact and it seems like the balls just pop off the face with ease.
The carbon fiber body also allows the folks at Callaway Golf to add weight where it is needed most. In the FT-iZ that weight is mainly in the rear of the club. This provides a very high launch and low spin ball flight designed to work well with the modern golf ball. The crown of the club features an aerodynamic shape to reduce drag created during the swing. This club from top to bottom is designed for distance and accuracy!

It seems like if you put a half way good swing anywhere on the face of this club–it’s going to launch the ball well. Every shot felt good. That has a double edged sword to it, as even some fairly gnarly casting motions felt good, and provided respectable distance. What this club will not forgive is the deadly inside to inside motion (not to be confused with inside-square-inside.) Pull hooks and Duck Hooks are quite possible. There’s a built in draw bias somewhere. The club, however, looks only ever so slightly draw biased at address. Once again, –all shots felt good, and went more than a respectable distance; thus giving credence to the claim, “a full 12% of the face will launch the ball at speeds within 2 MPH of hitting it on the optimal sweetspot.” It’s amazing what that acid-dipping used to do for those old GTO’s too!
Callaway threw everything they had into this one. It’s a pretty amazing driver. This club is well balanced between distance, forgiveness, and actual balance of the club itself.

Callaway FT-IZ Fairway Wood
The Callaway FT-iZ fairway wood is part of Callaway’s most advanced family of clubs. Callaway have updated their own Fusion Technology to create the longest and straightest fairway woods they have ever produced.
The FT-iZ fairway features Fusion Technology in it’s multi material construction with each component individually designed to complement the whole club. The crown of the FT-i9 is made from compression moulded carbon fibre and weighs just nine grams. This has allowed Callaway to redistribute the weight to the clubface and the rear of the club in a system called polar weighting. By concentrating the weight in these key areas the FT-iZ can deliver an extremely high Moment of Inertia (MOI) making it one of the most stable clubs Callaway have produced. With the weight at the back and rear of the club Callaway’s engineers have been free to give the centre of gravity a precise location low in the clubhead to promote the ball speed and spin that contributes to consistently long trajectories.
FT-iZ woods have an aerodynamic design to reduce drag in the downswing for higher impact speeds, while ‘polar weighting’ (heavy face and heavy in-line power source in the rear) provides stability, consistency, incredible feel and increased speed.
The Callaway FT-iZ Fairway Wood offers unprecedented distance, stability, consistency and feel in every shot. Polar weighting localizes most of the clubhead’s weight in face and the back power source, producing the highest levels of ball speed consistency, clubhead stability and feel to increase linear acceleration of the golf ball.Article Source www.latestsgolf.com The aerodynamic body design helps decrease drag for higher swing speeds and ultra-thin VFT Technology creates hotter ball speeds for longer distance. Fusion Technology uses multiple materials that allow for extreme weight placement to ensure the optimal combination of performance and feel with stunning looks.
