How do you join Anime-Beta? (Also, a few newbie RS questions)

I just read about a site called Anime-Beta, but when I tried joining it said I needed an invitation code. Does this mean a moderator or something has to invite me? If so, how should I contact them?

And as for my newbie question (this is going to sound very stupid) but how in the world do I upload an avatar for my username? I've looked all over the gallery/profile settings, and either I'm blind and missing it, or I'm looking in the wrong place. Can anyone give me a quick step by step on where to go to upload one? I'm usually ok on finding these things out myself, but this one has me stumped.

Lastly, someone told me I could find some backgrounds for my cels using the Printable Background Gallery Resource here, but every time I've gone there for the past few weeks it says:

Sorry for the inconvenience. This resource will return soon!

Is this for the whole community? Or am I missing something again?

1. Because a bunch of baddies once registered on Anime-Beta with the intentions of sending members a swarm of unwanted spam messages, you now need to be invited by an existing member. I'm willing to do this, but I need your email. So send me a gallery feedback message:

That will have your email in it, and I'll go over to the Beta site and send you an invite, and that will give you the invitation code. (If that sounds complicated, it has to be to outwit the spammers.)

2. I believe the avatar is handled through "Edit Site Graphics" in your Profile. Click the arrow in the box under "Select Page to Edit" (the default is "Home") and then choose "Gallery Listing" from the menu that appears. I think that will let you do what you want.

3. RS went through a major server move and refurbish recently. Since the webmaster does this as a service to the community during time off from his day job, some of the functions from the old version (which was insecure and prone to crashing regularly) have not been fully restored. That's for all of us, not just you.

It's still pretty versatile, though, and all I can do is advise patience and make use of the functions that are live.

And also, thanks for the help on how to upload an avatar! I must have read over that page a bazillion times, but in the preview box it never showed my button so I didn't think it was the right option. Silly me!

And I'm glad to hear the printable background resource thing isn't only happening to me. I was worried that it might be a newbie thing.
