Yamato Anime Producer Yoshinobu Nishizaki Passes Away

A sad day for anime fans: Space Cruiser Yamato Anime Producer Yoshinobu Nishizaki passed away in an accidental fall from a boat ironicly named the "YAMATO" around 12:35 p.m. on Sunday November 8th 2010. He was 75. The boat which carried his body to the hospital was named the "Southern Cross" - 100% anime 'till the end!

Strangly enough at that very time on this side of the globe we were doing an old school panel on Be Forever Yamato at Nekocon in Hampton VA (USA) when this happened.... - spooky -

During the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade in New York City this past weekend 11/25/2010 the NY Police Dept marching band performed the theme to "Space Cruiser Yamato" in tribute and was braodcast worldwide.
