Oldest cel on RS?
Having a live link to "Plastic Future," noisywalrus's own cel gallery, reminded me of this question that came up on Beta some time ago.
The items uploaded to RS are given sequential numbers, which now are somewhere over 315,000. So you can get a rough idea of the first batch of cels to be displayed here by paying attention to the "ItemID=000" at the end of the url.
The cels in "Plastic Future" must be among the first ever uploaded. The lowest number I can find is a cel of Hitomi from Escaflowne, uploaded August 16, 2001, which is:

But does anyone know if there is a cel or sketch currently on display in a RS gallery with an ItemID below 41? Or even if there is a currently live item that is ItemID=1?
Yep, that's the oldest cel on the site. Hey, that reminds me, I missed the 9th RS birthday. Been working on the site.... actually replying to this thread on the new site. :)
That is pretty neat. I'd never really given it much consideration before now. I think my lowest numbered item is still something like 57000...
Mine is 16059, also the first of my CCS cels to appear in Episode 1 (during the dream sequence at the very start). It would be interesting to see just what series were "hot" during the first year of RS: I'd guess Slayers, Escaflowne, Gundam Wing, Sailor Moon, and DBZ.
