Featured Gallery images

Although I understand a new version of RS is in the works, could some time be set aside to work on Featured Items? I know that many of the images currently displayed, including one for my gallery, no longer belong to the owner of the gallery featured. I know I have clicked on some, hoping to see the featured cel, only to find that the curator of that gallery doesn't even collect that series anymore and has long sold the item in question.
Maybe it is time to go through and do an over-haul of that Featured Items?


Or, perhaps there could be an automated Featured Item creator (like with the thumbnails), so that gallery curators can update their two given images at their leisure? This way, people's Featured Gallery images could reflect their current collecting trends w/o having to bother Jason about doing it manually?

Would be a good idea. I actually created a section of my home page for "Featured cel/Featured sketch" that I change every month and use to call attention to my non-CCS holdings. (Virtually all of my top 50 hitters are CCS, even though this part of my collection, though dearly cherished, is now a minority of my holdings.)

While I like the two "Featured Gallery" images that cycle (and still own both!) it would be nice to be able to change this periodically to reflect my current emphases, as Rei says.

It'd be nice to reserve this feature to RS sponsors (perhaps increased frequency the higher the level of support) and the users themselves just pick whatever cel they want to be representative of their gallery.

im pretty sure jason is thinking about doing just that. you may want to check with him just to be sure.
