having to do a time-constrained, slow update of my gallery here

I'm having to do a time-constrained, slow update of my gallery here. I know you can hide/make private individual cels/sketches in any category, but is there a way to make a whole category hidden or private? I'd like to re-open my gallery but not completely while it's so heavily "under construction". I'd rather open each category when I've completed going over it.

Any options? I didn't spot anything hopeful to click.

You can password protect and make the section hidden but it will still show on the front page each time you update like those with a hidden "coming soon" section. You do have to "hide/protect" each item in that section individually.

I don't care about the category header showing, but it seems I have to password-protect/hide each individual item separately and there's no way to protect/hide a whole category/group at one time.

I guess I'll just stay closed until whenever I get it all done. One-at-a-time-ing is going to take just as long if not longer!
