Animatrix

Definetly check it out... very nice DVD, provides some interesting comments about anime too...
I got mine ^-^.

I saw Animatrix last night.

The opening was really cool, but my favorite episode would be the Detective Story.

But I was hoping more from Animatrix. Again the opening was amazing, but after that the rest of the dvd felt average and nothing spectacular like I was hoping for.

Am I the only one who thought "Beyond" was genius like no other? Sure, it wasn't particularily deep, but it's a freaking 3D watercolor! I know it's unhealthy to praise something for technical merit alone, but going around corners in a background painting was a very neat trick. I watched it again just to make sure it wasn't just an overzealous first impression, but it looked just as good after staring at it for a bit. Maybe it's just me. =/

I'm assuming that some of the FLCL people were on this but I didn't check to make sure.

After seeing the latest Ghost in the Shell TV episodes that are floating about on the Internet, I decided to do a little research and found this.

Scroll down to the video that explains the making of the Animatrix. That's... uh... wow. At least it gives me an idea for a new poll (finally!).

I've had it for awhile now, but I loaned it out. (Grrr, I gotta track it down!) My favs are the first one, and the one where the chick is on a horse in the beginning.
