Hot-Linkers

Hi Ginga! How be ye? ^_^

What I find works best is watermarking your images. Watermarked images tend to make people not want to link to them. I know there's a lot of arguments against watermarking(such as it can be removed), but I find that most people who hotlink are far too lazy to remove them. I've done google searches on my images and have yet to see any of them posted on other sites, which means one of two things:

1) Nobody likes watermarked images.

2) Nobody likes the items in my gallery.

I'm guessing it's the first, but, you never know, right ^_~

I've noticed that your main banner is all over the place. I found it at www.animegalleries.net in the Saturn section. I don't know if you personally created the image, though, or if you found it somewhere else. But, it's there, nonetheless.

Wow, really? I didnt know that. I actually created the banner by MYSELF. :O lol It took a long time to get the effects I wanted on the cel scan and text; but, I love it and it was worth all the effort I put into it. :)

All I did was rotate the scanned image backwards and added major effects using Photoshop CS3.

As for watermarked images, I always put my name on the larger jpeg of the cel that was scanned. I have yet to see my stuff on Google either; but, I still think it's wierd to have a sketch that has been viewed 1700 times. lol

Really, there's not much you can do, since RS users don't control the server, etc. If you had your own webspace, you could put up a .htaccess file that says exactly which sites can hotlink your images.

For the items with the high hit counts, I would suggest just reuploading the picture. Every time you upload a pic, I'm pretty sure it gets a completely new URL, since RS automatically adds a set of numbers to each picture's URL. I'm not completely positive, so test it to make sure. ^_~

Is the sketch especially nice? My sketch with 2300 hits (mostly in the last year) is at least very nice (and filled with sexy girls)...

The only thing sexy in my gallery is me...the curator. ~_^
