I don't remember that link button so it might be a potential new item like the medals that has yet to be activated.
When I click on it I get this.

Yeah, that invite button has not been there in the past 3 or 4 years, so I imagine that it's one of the new features Magician is working on.

After you log in , the button appears on the left of the site links at the top.
