Health Effects of Clutter?

check out the A&E Tv series on Monday nights called 'Hoarders" and you can see the really bad effects of having a collection so large it overruns the house. These people show signs of real mental Illness. Now granted most of these homes are filled with worthless and unusable trash, but if ever there was a person who had so many cels that their house was condemmed... THAT's a collector~!

True... however aren't we all collectors of something? :) Some of us collect physical things like cels, toys, comics, pets, clothing, purses, shoes, money, while others collect vacations, sexual conquests and/or memories... etc. So in essence we are ALL hoarders to varying degrees, aren't we?

The one thing we personally draw the line at is when one cannot function in society because of their collecting/hoarding lifestyle. Sometimes less really IS more! And as for your comment
KahmCelWorld, if someone's house got condemned b/c of their obsessive collecting... that would be very SAD. Hopefully that person is fortunate enough to have an intervention. Just goes to show, we never really know what goes on minds of those around us, do we?

how very true. On this TV show the houses are so bad with hoarded clutter that the people get threatened with evictions, children taken away, family members disown them & even charged with animal cruelty when they unearth cat skeletons! Like a car crash, It's horror that you cant help but watch.
