Archiving Weblogs?

Is it possible to save old weblogs but not keep them visable on your site? I'm just curious because I have never deleted a single blog, and I would much rather not. That's the point of blogs/journals/diaries/whatever, right? To keep a record of your thoughts and ramblings? Blogs are just a little more public . . .

Anyway, as you can see, I've got quite the back-up:

I
know that "News" items will drop off your front page once you collect a certain number of them, but they are still visable in "My Account" under "News." Is there a similar feature with the blogs? If not, could there be?

No there is no archiving available on RS. What you might do is copy them to a file and save them on your computer if you want, that or just leave them up in your weblog.

I used to copy the entries I wanted to save (well, back when I used the weblog, that is -- LOL). I pasted them into word documents and stuck them in a file on my computer, as JWR suggests. Not quite as easy as if you could hit a neato "archive" button or something ... but better than nothing. I was strange in that I never liked my weblog to get more than two or three entries in it.

Every time I write one, I think about this. Too bad there's no way to save them on RS. Maybe a future feature?

Personally, I don't care that they're all there, but I'm curious as to whether it takes a while to download on dial-up. It shouldn't considering that it's all words and no pictures (aside from the background) but you never know. I know I would hit the back button if a page was taking too freaking long to download. ^_^
