Has anyone ordered from Cartoon Colour?

So, I tried to order some stuff from Cartoon Colour and all I have to say is that I think that the mods here should take it off the website as a resource.

It's not that they didn't send me my stuff, but they basically practice bad business. Plus their website causes Norton to go off saying it doesn't have a valid web certificate or something. A warning I did not listen to.

I ordered over their website in the middle of april, never received any confirmation e-mails, or phone calls ( as they are claiming they made the day I placed the order) stating my order was placed... nothing.

So a week goes by, I check my login on the site and it shows I had not placed any orders in my history. I assumed that maybe since the site certificate was bad either they were not truly in business anymore, or Norton didn't let it go through.

I had a message on my machine on 4/27/07 ( almost a full two weeks later) stating that the items I had ordered were on backorder and finally came in and to call them if I still wanted them. Well, I got this message after coming home from work so it was too late to call them back, plus I was just pissed that they had just called me about the backorder issue. Well, perhaps out of pure forgetfullness, or subconciously thinking why should I call them back since they never bothered to tell me in the first place, I never got back to them until today.

So, I have a package from them with the items I ordered, which they shipped the same day they left me the first and only message. So I called them up, asking why they had sent them considering I didn't call them back to say whether or not I wanted the order. To spare myself and you all from an all to long yelling match over the phone here the synopsis:

First, the woman I was speaking to was one of the apparently three people in the entire company and get this, her name she gave me was Pookie. Whether she made it up or not doesn't matter, it certainly did not add to her credibility.

They left me a message and still sent the items the same day, so there was no way for me to dispute it in time anyways, and she had to gall to ask why I didn't check my home phone messages from work! Proceeded to shout and yell profanities and ask for proof that they had contacted me prior to the 27th. She said someone said they talked to me the day I placed my order, which my phone records would prove in a court of law that they didn't even call me that day PERIOD.

So, I talked to her about returning them and getting a refund. Now I payed by credit card. She said that I would get a refund by check or credited through the card. I proceeded to tell her that the only way I will receive a refund in through the credit card, I payed by credit after all, I get the refund by credit. I also mentioned how do I know the check they would send will be good? She proceeded to say why would I send you a bad check for a meesly $88.00. Now, I work in accounts payable at my also small office and have overheard the times when a small handful of our customers tend to send checks to our lockbox and stop payment on them a day later, so I have no beleif that the check they would send me would be good.

So, I'm not really sure what I'm going to do now with trying to return it, or not, depends what the credit card company says once I explain this situation and the kind of people I'm dealing with.

The bottom line: they do not do good business. The fact that she even metioned a check as means of refund for a credit card purchase floored me, she kept mentioning that she doesn't care about refunding me my small purchase, but then why is she lying and making the refund process difficult and backwards from all standard business practice I've ever know. Which makes me think that my meesly $88 does mean something to their business profits, so I won't be seeing a valid refund ever.

Maybe I just had a truly horrible experience and they otherwise have not upset anyone else before, but I cannot beleive that because like many of you, I purchase online a lot and for the last 8 years too. This is the worst experience I have ever had ordering something from an actual company, hands down. ( Really, after my screaming match with her I literally started crying I got so emotional. I have ony reacted like that one other time in my life; at college my freshman year to my roomate, understandably so since I am after all an only child and she was also, housing facility dropped the ball there)

If any of you have ordered from them as well please let me know if your experiences were good, bad, or just okay. This may greatly affect the actions I will take with my refund.

This is my first time posting in the forum, Hate that it had to be on such a down note, but I felt this was the only way to get it out there.

I've ordered from then once so far and recieved prompt service, with a "delivery sent" email. No problems.

I order from this company on a regular basis as this is where I get my cel paint from. They even called once when I ordered the wrong paint and noticed I had never ordered this before and wanted to make sure that was what I really wanted. Good thing they called because it wasnt what I had meant to order. I really hope that everything gets worked out!

I've also ordered from them several times as well as that is where my sister gets some of her fancel paint from. Very quick service, and they've called me once to confirm my order (since I was a new customer) and called me after each time I ordered to confirm. They've always left me a message and waited for me to call back. I've even received a small gift from them for ordering so much paint one time! O_o

I'm sorry to hear you are having problems though, maybe it was a bad day for them (and of course you)? I hope everything gets straightened out.

Well, I read what all of you have posted so far, I guess nothing but the kind of service I was expecting. And I guess I'm happy no one else has experienced what I have, but I'm upset and confused why it happened to me, if they are such a seemingly decent company.

What bothers me the most is that they have my correct e-mail address, and phone number. The lady I spoke to insists that according to their "log-book" I was called the day I placed the order and actually spoke to, which if they called and talked to someone, it certainely was not me. And they claimed they e-mailed me and order confirmation, that my items were on backorder, etc. Not one single e-mail. If they have my correct e-mail there's no way I wouldn't have received them because I check my spam folder every day as well.

What pissed me off is that this lady said well it's not my fault if you never received the e-mail or calls. So, this manager of sorts, I guess, didn't even give a sh** that perhaps whomever is handling my account dropped the ball and falsified information.

Well, I talked with the credit card company and decided to send the items back for a refund, unfortunately now I can never order from them again thanks to this terrible experience.
