so, my stupid car is in a block of ice
It doesn't freeze in Texas often, especially not for more than a day. So, I went outside to move my car under covered parking like a smart person, except I didn't go out until just now like a dumb person. My car is frozen in 1/4" of ice, all the way around. The doors don't open and the temperature is supposed to be below freezing for the next two days. I don't feel like defrosting my car. I actually like cold weather (went outside in sandals just now) but people here are like clearing shelves at grocery stores and huddling together to conserve body heat like we've just plunged into another Ice Age or something.
Did I mention the temp outside is a cataclysmic 29F? Panic!
This weather is dumb. And dumb people have way too much fun, according to the TV. That is all.
And yes, I do feel better now.
*grumble mumble grumble*
Here in Texas, if ice actually touches the ground, some residents and their pets have been known to spontaneously combust out of fright. All drivers are advised to crash immediately and then the mass rioting ensues. It's always an adventure.
Its 110F here at the moment (Australia) and approximately 100,000,000 hectares has been burnt over the last two months due to bushfires (forest fires). Its also not expected to get below 100F for the next week including nights. If I didn't spend all my money on cels I could afford an A/C. Send that block of ice over here!!!!!
I've had many Australians tell me that they live in towns where they can only bathe once every other day. I hope you're not stuck in one of those towns, minigt.
Hmm..well, I'm afraid I can't give you any advice about unfreezing your car. We're still having the cold snap in California, but thankfully, nothing appears to be freezing..yet.
Perhaps some buckets of warm water will help unfreeze that ice. Then you can use a scraper to take off the remaining chunks.
Good luck unfreezing your car.
I'm with Minigt, send that ice our way.
