Individual Cel Voting...

Hmmm...What does everyone think of the idea of individual cel voting?

The site creators have the choice of it being on or off...And in each cels' main page would have a scale of 1-10 for voting on that particular cel.

Displayed on RS main page, or on the main RS galleries page, it could display the top cel(s) on the site.

I know it could be biased, but might be a fun feature to toy with?

Ideas, opinions?

Sounds good. I'm not sure if making it appear on the RS front page would be feasible. There's space on the front page for it, but still. Might be too much work. Displaying within the individual's gallery would definitely be cool. Might actually produce some interesting results.

Kind of side observation:

Over the last few months, I've felt like a "number rating" to galleries inspires way too much of a pass/fail mentality. Systems that simply track only positives seem to be better, in my mind.

I imagine that we will eventually scrap the current "gallery rating" system to change to something more like a "mark as favorite" system. We'll probably keep the same catagories, because those seem to work (at least for gallery ratings).

In any case, as for the idea, it's a good idea and very easy to implement once I get a more reasonable organization for what we currently have.

Progress on that requires a long, boring answer... but I can say, honestly, that more concrete RS work has been done in the past few weeks that the past three years combined. I'll have something ready to show soon. Holiday season is good because less people need non-related work done for my paying job. Lots of progress, but still much more work to be done.
