One Piece

I used to collects cels a while ago but drifted away until I started watching One Piece. So I figured, 280+ episodes, there should be plenty of sketches/hanken/genga around (like SM), after I got warmed up to the idea of owning from a CGI show. But after looking around at YHJ, online shops, galleries ... there really doesn't seem to be any kind of a supply of One Piece at all. Certainly no memorable scenes available.

Is there a reason for the limited supply ? Lack of interest, numerous Japanese collectors, or that Toei just isn't releasing anything. Anyways, I would love to start a One Piece collection, but can't seem to find any traction, so it would be great if someone can point me in the right direction.

There is an intense and rabid One Piece following - I count myself one among them. ^_^ When sketches do become available it has been, in my experience, a bloody-knock-down-drag-out fight over them. Mandarake is a good place to look for them, but winning is expensive and sometimes requires teaming up to nab them. I really haven't had much luck catching them on YJ lately. Sometimes people announce a few sketches on offer over a Beta. Take a good look around and make offers is the only other option I can think of. Good luck, I hope you can find something you like.

That's what I'd think...but relative to the number of episodes, I've hardly seen anything over the past year and a half, and it only seems to be getting scarcer. The studio is doing a good job of locking them away/destroying them.

There's been a few little auctions around lately, and every Mandarake Big Web Auction seems to pull some cuts from the third movie (one of these went on regular auction for a pretty insane price recently), but nothing has caught my eye since summer. I would love to add more sketches of the main crew to my collection. I'm probably too picky for my own good (I passed up a number of auctions earlier this year/last year).

Thanks. I just hope it's not like an Evangelion situation where the good cels are coming out now ... years after the series has come and gone.

Just seems a bit weird that there's more Nausicaa cels on YHJ right now than One Piece cels (including a very nice closeup !)

though i havent heard of this series, and it sounds really good^^, i haven't had much luck on nabbing CGI artwork either. Usually, when it does appear--I have to fight tooth and nail for it.

Right now, I would love some new Princess Tutu artwork; but, I know it's going to be tough. The Tutu-fan is ardent^^.

I would also love some sketches of Hikaru from Clamp's Angelic Layer and some artwork from "this ugly and beautiful world" and Kaleido Star.

I haven't seen any artwork for TUYBW at all and I havent seen genga from KS in over 9 months on YJ.
