Selling Cels on Rubberslug

Ok, this post was born out of my pure boredom and also due to my lack of patience with certain RS sites. For all those innocent and not, I apologize in advance for my blatant opinion stated here.

Although it has been explicitly stated over and over again, people still try to sell their cels through the direct usage of RS. I would imagine that placing such categories as FOR SALE and ON HOLD on your site would be a clue for some people to recognize this. Even though I do not play any role in this site's management, I still believe that every member has signed a sort of agreement when you first became a member. This means you are bound to the rules of this site, and if this site says that you are not allowed to so obviously attempt to sell your cels through this site, then you cannot do so. Period. There should be no confusion with this, and yet I still find pages with subcategories such as FOR SALE and ON HOLD, individual cels with prices slapped right on them. I know people have been warned about this before and that your site may be taken down if you refuse to comply with the rules.

So, for anyone who still seems confused with this matter, I suggest you make sure that you check with the rules first and foremost, and that you do not have such obvious give-aways on your site, huh? ^_~ It's just common courtesy. Give the guy who pays for this site a break.

I somewhat agree with you Rekka. Sites made solely to sell cels on RS is a no no. But there are a few sites I have seen that do have something along the lines of "offers and trades are welcome but no promises ect". Those I dont have to much a problem with, mainly because on one such site I just nabbed a wishlist cel.

For me personaly sites that are made but dont post anything are a problem. I understand there not being any public cels on a few sites, but no cels period? Those are the ones that are just blah. Anyways I was bored too and thought I would reply!

Normally, I wouldn't have a problem with people selling cels. However, being that RS is run by a (relatively) sophisticated catalog system, it's a little *too* easy for people to load sites with an entire store. We found this out very early.

Again, sales will continue some time in the future, but in a separate central location where buyers can be given all the applicable warnings. Sales in the future, though, will involve some sort of tradeoff. I haven't yet decided what the trade will be.

Work on the new stuff continues, as it does every weekend. I've decided to move away from dumping new features into the site as soon as they are done and instead saving them for major revisions. (Today, nestable series went in. It's pretty swanky... you'll have to take my word for it.)

I do need to make up a list one of these days explicitly what is and is not allowed here. I make a lot of decisions and policies with the assumption that people know what this site is, and I shouldn't do that. =/

You also might want to be aware of the fact that there are some of us that are advancing onto more knowledge and therefor better and more appealing cels for their collections. I myself am one of those people, because of this I have had a few cels for sale OR trade and before I placed them as such in my slug site I ASKED the site owner before hand and waited till it was ok'd but them.

Some of us don't mean for it to be viewed any differently than a regular cel site. In my case they are cels I am not particularly please with but being that I am now able to be a better judge and have outgrown the buy anything phase (as it was in the begining with for instance marmalade Boy) I am now on to better collecting tips and tricks and just want to make room for new and more appealing cels for my personal gallery.
