The Sales No-Tolerance Policy

I have no clue what's been going on that's caused this new policy, so I'm coming into this blind. But I am sad that it's come to this because some of my best cel find came from for sale/offer notices in people's galleries or from them posting that they're selling stuff on eBay. So, this is a bummer. :(

I would like to see an "official" section in galleries that people could post that they have cels in the RS store (and perhaps on eBay). That way, those of us drooling over someone's stuff will be clued in that the pieces we love may actually be for sale. Also, it will help those selling the cels to be able to more quickly move their art.

We do have an "Official" place you can check for notices of sales & offers.
If you get in the habit of checking this forum thread section http://www.rubberslug.com/board/showcat.asp?C=9
You
will see all those listed.

I agree with the new rules. I find that there are many effective ways of posting for sale/offer messages. You can make a free website through Geocities or Bravenet (there are many options) and list your cels for sale there, and post the link on RS forums or Beta. I have always found free sites on Geocities to be very user friendly. You can use a template to build your website or use your own HTML. This way you have your own, personal space in which to sell your cels and you will not be creating potential problems for our generous RS hosts ^.^

I feel I must apologize for using the cel descriptions in the past to say that those cels were *for offers*. I have taken the few I had up down (didn't get any offers anyways ^.^) out of respect for RS and everyone who has advertisments such as these should do the same.

Thank you for keeping this service free because I love RS!

I was banned and I have no idea why. It would had been nice to receive an e-mail warning ahead of time so that I had a chance to see what the problems were to fix them. As far as what I remember seeing in it, I had a "For Trade/Offer" section but most of what was listed there are in the RS shop. Other than that I briefly mentioned that I MIGHT sell some cels and so I hid a lot of them so that people wouldn't make offers on them. Unless I accidently left something up from a long time in the greeting/news sections.

That's it so I'm very confused at this point. I'm not a person with a habit of selling through the gallery since I warned of it when I first opened the gallery. They said I couldn't have a "For Sale" section but that a "Trade/Offer" section was allowed. That was it. If I was going to make an annoucenment on selling things in my gallery it would've been through Anime-Beta or through Ebay. I even ignore offers that were brought up in my weblogs or sent as Feedback e-mails unless they were for cels in the Shop section.

I'm pretty sure you should be able to re-open your gallery, as long as you make the needed adjustments. You'll need to talk to the mods, or wait until they see this message.

I argued on behalf of gallery owners that might not be aware of the policy, but this was before they put the announcement on the main page.

I look forward to seeing your gallery again.
