question

in the drop down section of series that you select from when adding new items, is there any way to get rid of old series that you no longer use?

what i had to do... was:

I had to do all these steps in a row, and couldn't come back and delete a section later...

1) add a misc. 'update' to the empty section
2) delete the update
3) empty the trash
4) check the little box that says "delete series" then update the series info.

That is what worked for me, I hope it works for you. I know I was annoyed by the old sections I didn't use anymore still being there to scroll through.

I followed the steps you gave & it worked out great. Now I don't have those annoying old sections.
