How to remove paint?

I have a few cels that have some paint - that I assume is from another cel - on the front and I'd like to remove it. Has anybody done it before? how can I do it? I'd welcome all your advices :D

(You might want to try this on a throw-away cel first)

Isopropyl (rubbing alcohol), a q-tip, and minimal pressure should remove paint spots easily both on the front and the back. Be careful not to use too much isopropyl and get it on areas you don't want to touch up. Also don't press down on the q-tip as this can scratch the cel. The paint should come right up after a couple of seconds in the alcohol, no rubbing is necessary.

Be aware that there may be (intentional) paint/lines on the front of the cel and be careful around them. If you get small amount of alcohol on a spot you don't want, just wait for it to evaporate and it should be ok.

To remove any residue/streaks just use a damp cloth, preferably a new/clean microfiber. AFAIK thats how they used to wipe dust off cels during production.

Also, this advice is for inexpensive cels. If I paid more than a couple hundred bucks for a cel I'd use a professional service rather than possibly damaging a valuable cel.

the Isopropyl is the regular alcohol used to clear wounds and that you always keep at home?

Thanks for the advises!

Yup, isopropyl is rubbing alcohol. Comes cheap in any convenience store.

And you should use the highest percentage you can find (91%+) and the non-scented kind.
