Creating your own cels
I am curious as too how you go about making your own cel. I would like to make one myself but would like a little help before I go and do a butcher job ^_^
So my first question is what materials do you need/use?
Second, where do you begin and what is the process for making a cel?
If I think of anything else I will be sure to ask. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
Hi! Only have just seen this thread, so disregard if no one is interested in this!
I came across this link a couple of months ago and it lists the materials you will need as well as what order to paint you cel in eg: like painting the small details first, then moving onto larger parts.

It is a really good step-by-step feature to get anyone started in the field of cel painting. And have I used this tutorial?... well not yet, I am collecting paints/sheets and the like as I go, but being a Uni student doesn't leave alot of time and the remainder of my time is spent entertaining my kids... was going to try to paint a cel these Christmas holidays, will let you know how if it worked out! ~_^
Hope this helps you or anyone else out! Post if you do paint a cel as I would love to see the end results! Thanks! ^_^
Ooooo Thank You so much ^_^
I am slowly collecting all the paints I need for the cels I plan to try out. I made a little test cel a few weeks ago, the paint didn't turn out like I hoped but making the outlines was so much fun! I can not wait to get started for real.
Thanks again,
