Thanks, Mok! But I actually don't have that many friends...LOL. I asked my deputy what the auction says and they say it's a reproduction. I think we can all agree that it is a reproduction or duplicate or whatever and that it probably (through Mok's expert analysis) was not used in the production. The real question is who did it. Is this the work of a fancel artist or did the studio make this (i.e. test cel, etc.). I am still trying to find that out. Good luck to all who are bidding!

Oh well, it's a nice cel anyways. I just knew it when I saw the cel that if I bid on it it would also come up with either Mokman or GB for the bid. Super nice cel though.

Wow! did you see what the cel ended for? I know people would disagree with me but I would never pay $350 for a fan cel, crazzzzzy! I just hope that the winner knew that it wasn't a real production cel -_-

I would guess that there is enough evidence that this cel may be more than a "normal" fan cel. Almost most fan cels I have seen are copies of exact screen caps or cels. Also most would plan to have the whole image on the cel unlike this one where part of Rick's head is cut off.
Chances are that this one may have been more of a test cel for an artbook or VHS slipcase.
Even if it does turn out to be just a fan cel , it is still a very nice image and enough collectors thought so to drive the final bid to just under 35,000 yen.

Wow, what a tough crowd here (Matt). I guess I am just going to have to put the cel in a private area and not give out the password, lol. I'm just kidding, you all can look at it once I make the update. I am convinced, like Joe mentioned, that this cel is from the studio and not a fan. Hence my somewhat high winning bid (though still very much lower than it would have been if there weren't any questions as to its origins). Did I get burned on this one? We may never know but I am satisified with the outcome and that is all that matters to me.

P.S. I am giving notice about the movie backgrounds just listed on YJ. I am going to be going after that auction VERY HARD! Everyone else bid at your own risk, lol.
