Can you get UV-protected plexi glass?
I have not yet ventured into the expensive realm of mounting cels on my wall. I would like to however. My question is, can you purchase plexi glass that is treated to protect the cel against UV like you can get with normal glass?
The reason obviously because I would like to have plexi glass to prevent cel damage if the frame falls, and I would like to keep my cels from fading as much as possible (especially since I collect mostly SM). Tons of line fading possibilities there.
I am asking because I have read posts that some of you use plexi, and some use anti-UV treated glass...but I have not yet read a post that describes what I am looking for.
Has anyone tried this? Thank you!

Oh yes...and IF you have tried this...is it expensive? I would prefer to spend most of my money on cels and storage rather than on framing. If it is that expensive maybe only one cel at a time will be framed ^.^

Most frame shops will have UV-protective plexi. However, it IS more expensive than UV-protective glass. For example:
To get my Gorgeous Rose cel framed, with the glass, its $97.54. With plexi, it would be $138.44.
^_^; Hope that helps!
Hello Sailorsv13,
You can use reg plexi and go to any hardware store and get clear UV window tint in a roll,
Homedepot has this in stock and you can buy the size roll you need as it comes in wide widths if needed.
Once on the plexi you can not tell it is there as it is very clear and thin, make sure you put it on like it says on the box.
I hope this helps you out some it can save you up to 100 bucks if you are doing a large frame.

Thanx everyone for your help!
Boy, I really don't want to spend a whole bunch on a custome frame. Maybe I'll try Roy's idea...sounds much cheaper ^.^ Then I might be able to frame more than just one cel! Yay!
