Now that I'm at home, I thought I'd show you why in particular I'm not a fan of tissue paper touching cels...

Now,
I don't know if this is the exact kind of paper you are using, MacKettric...its kind of smooth and shiny on one side and a matte, slightly rougher surface on the other side. The shiny side seems fairly stick-proof - at least I haven't seen it stuck to anything yet. The other side...not so much. Having just spent the last two weeks picking out little tissue paper fragments out of hanken linework, its fresh on my mind. ;)

I suppose tho, if the fronts of the cels have no paint on them, it would be ok. Doesn't matter if the back sticks, since ya can't see it.

And out of curiosity, what was the opinion you heard on bags? Was it the fumes build-up thing, or was it something else?

I
nearly died when I saw the words "animation cel cut in two"!!! Then they were closely followed by "One half of the Aladdin cel." 0.o I know it's for science and everything, but I also know that almost every cel collector has freebie cels they would gladly donate for a worthy cause such as this . . . Heck, I just got one of someone's crotch I'd give away on a heartbeat!

Wow. That S/R labs site gives some questionable advice.
Separate cels and drawings with clean paper large enough to cover the image area
Sure...if you don't mind the cels becoming one with the paper. Heh. In my evil freebie cel experiments, I've noted in less than a year, cels will start to stick to regular paper. And these guys aren't even specifying what KIND of paper, just that it be clean.

Course, it also tells you to inspect and *clean* your cels regularly. I think I'd need to hire help to get that done, considering I can't even keep up on scanning my cels, and I only have to do that once.
