Hotlinking means using the HTML coding that makes a picture show up, but you, personally don't own the webpage it is hosted on.
It's like your avatar on beta, Leah. I told you to use the file on my webpage by using the
http://www.zag-los.com/etc/etc.jpg (not real URL). That's hotlinking. (I don't mind for you tho. ^_~ )
You don't own the webpage, but using it makes that pic apear on Beta. My webpage server registers the bandwidth being used to show it. It can make a page's bandwidth usage go through the roof. Many people have to pay extra for more bandwidth, so it tends to piss people off.
Usually you see people hotlinking to random galleries on the net. They're just too lazy to get their own gallery at photobucket or something.
Try turning your "pop-up blocker" software or options in your browser off. That might let you DL Bleach again.
