*heh* yeah, i'm finding that it ~does~ happen, though each time i hear of some "sore loser" it rattles my faith in humanity!!

i did email the winner, and was told if i could find a cel from a certain show of the series, we could talk about a trade; suffice to say, i've been burning up the free-time looking for one

i also contacted the seller, who told me that they sadly didn't have another one of the sequence

i do agree though, money burns holes in my pocket, and i keep telling myself "another one is out there just WAITING for me!"...so i know that patience and the waiting game is a big part of collecting...

but i just want it now *hahahahaha*

you're so right; i wish now that i had just dropped a single bid on it, and i should have known better that sometimes sniping just doesn't pay! especially in this case!!!

for me, the problem is that i'm so rarely on my computer at home (9 hours at work generally means i want as far away from a computer when i'm off work as i can get!), so i tend to not get much of my email anymore...though, i should again change my habits to avoid this happening to me again!!!

(course, my boyfriend keeps trying to talk me into using eSnipe, and i just feel kinda crummy using that service...figure if i want to 'snipe' something, i should have to suffer and sit my butt right in front of the computer and do it for myself!)

definately going to do my best to not have a repeat of this performance!!

OY!! shame on me! i did get your really sweet response, and doofie me hasn't responded yet *hangs head*

it really does shake me up at the idea of people being so mean online, but i know you're right; people say and do things online that they wouldn't do face to face...it's like through a screen and a keyboard they remove all common sense, decency and any manners they might have...it's simply awful!!!

i'm still on the lookout for any cel from the episode with the Big Card (the Dragon episode) as that's the one the winner collects from...course, this means i need to sit down and rewatch the episode so i can remember it better *laugh*

so, at least for now, my option is to keep checking for a sequence mate, and/or look for a cel i can trade...but that's okay!! i just keep reminding myself, it's a waiting game...that something else better will show up...plus, it gives me the added bonus of getting to look at lots and LOTS of cels (wait, i was doing that already! LOL) to see if there's one i'm looking for to trade

I just came across this topic, checked out the cel in question, and was amused to see that it was (1) one that I too had planned to bid on, and (2) one that I too thought went for way less than it was worth.

As I remember, I received a bunch of new cels that day, and was so involved with getting screenshots and uploading to rubberslug that I put eBay entirely out of my mind. I guess I need to get my obsessions prioritized better.

I usually watchlist cels I am interested in, and bid after a few days when I can see where the price is going. Well, it does save me money - that is, when I forget to bid at all!

that's exactly what happened to me! i watchlisted it, but completely and UTTERLY blanked out on my calculations for when it would end!!

i agree, it went for FAR less than i think it should have...but i guess them's the lucky breaks (for the winner anyways! to bad for us who missed out)

i guess it's both our losses, eh? ;)

ahhhh well...i'm still on the never-ending quest to find something close to it's caliber! good luck on your hunt!!!

i don't mean to necropost or anything, but i wanted to record this for "posterity's sake"...and to remind perhaps other newbies like me good things ~do~ happen to those who wait :)

i happened to stumble through YJ a week or so ago while at work, and there i found him...

a (in my opinion) ~better~ cel than the one i lost on eBay

to say i've been doing a happy dance is a severe understatement :)

however, with that said, i want to definately thank again some great people on here...everyone who replied to this thread, thanks again for the support :) it's amazing how text on a screen can make you feel so warm and fuzzy inside!!!

and a very special thank you goes out to Conri for having looked through YJ, remembering that i was looking for a cel like it, AND taking the time to let me know...i hope the Cel spirits smile on you!!
