Is the RS forum dying?

Well, okay...

Seems like it's not dead yet, but on life support >_<

Thanks for posting guys.

Well I would post more, but I haven't really purchased any cool cels to rave about ('cept the nice original b/w art I recently commissioned). But once i get a super-wowie cel, oh I'll post about it.

It's been on life support for while now. I don't post here much because I usually check chat every night. I go to AB when I want to post.

Is the RS Forum dying? You only have to look at the number of threads/posts to figure that out.
Too many gallery owners are quick to display their images but don't want to chat about them or other cel-related things.
There are loads of galleries but only the usual 20-30 posters in the forums. What can be done to encourage more people to post topics and replies?...

Then again, there are people who have posted so much that they've run out of things to say.
It's no fun talking about the same things over and over again. Long term collectors will have experienced this on various forums etc.

I'm happy to add my thoughts to other people's posts- like this one!
I've recently been doing more scanning, 70 scans this week, so I've been occupied with other things for the greater cause ;)

As one who spends time reading the forum posts as well as the weblogs, It seems that the forum has seen it's use reduced due to a lot of things that would have been posted in the forum are now being posted in each person's weblogs.

It seems the forum is being used more for asking questions or reporting problems, both of which do not lend to much discussion.

I also see that the RS chatroom seems to get a lot of use so items get discussed there rather than being posted in the forum.

Rubberslug has always been more about the artwork in the gallerys while sites like Anime-beta have been geared more towards discussions.

Adding some game posts like the "something fun" post on Beta in which one posts their favorite cel in the poster befores gallery might add more interest and use of the RS forum. (the one on Beta has over 3000 posts the last time I looked)

So I don't see the RS forum dying, just a lot of it's use has been shifted to the blogs & chat.
