Hiya Rubbersluggers,
Let me clear up a few things here.
I talked to this young man on chat and in a few emails with him.
I was introduced to this young man by one of the members here and after talking to him, I found out he had a DA site and I had good long look at his artwork and found it very nice.
I told him they would make very nice prints and or posters and I offered to make them for him.
This is why he posted here and asked would you buy these if they were offered as prints.
*****
He posted here to find out if some of you folks would buy his art if it was for sale in the future.
*****
He has never sold his artwork before and is kind of shy about selling his artwork as most artists are.
*****
Go to his site and take a good long look at it and I'm sure you will find it very nice also.
*****
Post here what pics you guys like best and those will be the first batch printed.
Also let me know what type of paper you like ,The first batch will be on 11" by 17" inch Enhanced Mac Paper,Semi-gloss paper like the paper used to make background copies for cels.

If you look in my gallery at this link all the cels on backgrounds have been placed on copies of the backgrounds I made for them from the original backgrounds, So all the backgrounds you see on this page are MAC paper and are copies.

I'll
post a few of the prints in my gallery as soon as I have a chance to print some up and you guys can have a look for yourself, I will put some in the RS forsale gallery at a discount for Rubbersluggers as a bonus to members.
Have a good one!
Roy

P.S.Thanks for your time and for reading this post.

First of all, let me get straight that I wasn't bashing his art work. Quite on the contrary, I think his art is amazing and I wish I could colour half as good as he does.

This isn't a contest either about who's art is superior because that doesn't make sense at all, and I certainly did not respond this way because I wanted to put him down.

What bothered me about this thread was the fact that he just posted a link to his own gallery (which is not really appreciated within the DA community either) without explaining why he was asking the question.
It would have made a much better impression if he had just explained why he wanted to know.

If he had just posted that I would have gladly told him I would buy his art in a heart beat, because it's gorgeous.

I'm totally insecure about my art work too, so I can relate to that. I hope he becomes more confident about his art, because he has no reason not to be.

If your friend wishes to sell his artwork as fine art prints, I would recommend that he join an established printmaking society (Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers, Boston Printmakers, New York Society of Etchers, Los Angeles Printmaking Society, etc.) and enter as many juried exhibitions as possible. Local press should be contacted whenever and wherever his work is shown. He can contact local Art Galleries with his portfolio and press clippings, and this will sometimes result in work being accepted on consignment. If the work sells well, the artist then can sell his work directly, discounted to galleries; and if it sells very well he will be able to license his images for reproduction on other goods and in periodicals. He should never pass up an opportunity to promote his work, but he should always clearly identify it as his art.

It also certainly couldn?t hurt to promote his work by selling it on the web in the manner described. As his location is listed as Croatia, you could act as his US Agent. There is a large Croation expatriot community in Los Angeles.

I am not an artist, but an Art Gallery manager, and am frequently approached with this type of inquiry.
