bcs madness

[adminpoll]94[/adminpoll]

I just got back from trying to buy party favors from a grocery store, and it was the most crowded I have ever seen in my 6-7 years in Austin.

Hope everyone (who is interested) gets a chance to watch tonight!

I'm not a football fan, but I'll stay loyal to my state. Go USC!

Unless, of course, you're a Bruin (like myself) ;)

Congratulations Longhorns!! Definitely a classic.
Now if we could only get Vince over to the Raiders...

Great game.

It lived up to all of the hype. I am a BIG USC fan, but they basically got what they deserved. You can't win'em all, 34 straight wins and a few national championships are enough as it is, but Texas was very fortunate to win.

USC was lucky to have made it this far actually with the defense that they had this year. I mean Fresno State scored over 40 points on them.. Fresno who?? Of course, Texas would score as much geez.

They had to come from behind 4 times this year to win against marginally skilled opponents. It was a loss waiting to happen.

And I thought that USC needed the luck, but in the scheme of things it was Texas that needed it (Vince Youngs knee down, but somehow the officials replay monitor didn't work for a touchdown??.. A clear catch and fumbled --ruled incomplete.. referees looking like they're on the BIG 12 payroll)

USC did so many dumb and cocky things in the game from the sideline timeouts, disorganization, Reggie Bush (my football hero)throwing the ball in the air?? What the #$%@? to the bad coaching, it was fitting that Vince Young "killed them" at the end, as he had all night.

Only 2 minutes to play and I mean 4th down and 2 yards on the 50 yard line and you run it up the middle against the best rushing defense in the country to a player everyone on both teams knew was getting the ball and where he was going-- dumb. Kick the punt dumbass or at least have your Heisman award player in the game for the biggest play of the game!! How do you have Reggie Bush on the sidelines for that?? I could grumble on.. of course being a USC fan. I hate to see games lost on officiating and dumb coaching.. not to take anything away from Texas football, they played great. Vince ran at will..

Anyway, hats off to Vince Young and the Texas Longhorns-- the New National Champions!

They came, they saw, and they conquered..

Congratulations!!!

Don't worry, everyone in Texas knows that the Longhorns are essentially a slightly above average college football team with an alien quarterback. The only reason we don't give Vince the ball every play is that we're afraid they might make a new rule just for him.
