OT Continued...

Noooooooooo! Not UCB! The eternal (and mostly amicable) rivals for people from 'The Farm'. LOL.

But, honestly, I kind of guessed from earlier posts that Kittens was from CAL, but I didn't know that you graduated from there, E. Wow! What are the odds that so many Beta collectors graduated from Bay Area schools (um...I think that this question qualifies for your expertise, Kittens)?

It is nice to know that I'm in good company with other collectors who understand the local slang of 'Big Game'. So, here's to the golden and the cardinal. May they always have an 'Axe' to grind...err...display (but only in neighborly competition). :)

*fades back into obscurity to the tune of 'All Right Now'*

P.S. If you are going to pelt me after this post, at least pelt me with your best cels and sketches! :D
And Leah, if you think: Rukia said she was a couple of hundred years old, so everyone wearing Shinigami robes must be really old, therefore Ichigo in shinigami robes is much older than he appears.
WOOT!!! I'm no longer a Perv!!! *dances with bunnies*

..oh wait, yes I am... .>

Now I'm lusting for a man who's either 15 or hundreds of years old??!! No happy medium?

Ah well, I can live with that. XD
That's my story for Ishida and I'm sticking to it. >.<
Works for me! XD

I found an interesting explaination in the latest Newtype-USA. This is from a article on a new anime series YUMERIA being released in the USA.

There is a term that is used in describing certain Anime characters described as MOE.

Cute girls battling it out in a fatasy world...while that might seem ordinary enough in anime, Yumeria (due out this Sept. from ADV) takes this commonplace concept to another level. Thanks to it's dogged, almost religious adherence to MOE.

Moe is anime's unique take on the ideal girl. It is described as a feeling of affection directed towards a fictional character(typically starring in anime, but manga and video games also work),Moe runs the gamut from kid-sister types to catgirls. The common thread? They're adored by Otaku and, most importantly, they're often unattainable. No one's exactly sure where the term came from, but one theory - that it's based on the verb moeru, Japanese for "to burn" - seems logical.

Now this may sound a bit deranged to the casual anime fan, but for the hardcore types, it's one of the pillars holding up classic otaku culture. Japanese merchandise based on girls that fit the moe ideal are hot sellers, starting with Rei and Asuka from Evangelion and working up - and out -from there. Dating sims and girl-oriented adventures continue to be released by the dozens in Japan. Over the past five years, the Akihabara district of Tokyo has gone from a cluster of electronics stores to a mecca for moe-obbsessed otaku, complete with "maid cafe's" where the waitresses call you "master" and roll rice balls by hand at your table. Combine all these games, comics, figures and side operations, and you've got a huge business - one that was estimated at 88 billion yen in Japan last year.

What does this have to do with Yumeria? As a quick glance at the story reveals, everthing. On the night of his 16th birthday, Tomokazu Mikuri has the strangest dream of his life - a vision of a girl he's never seen before fighting a mysterious flying enemy. In this dream Tomokazu possesses a strange power within his body, an energy force he gives to the girl to help her win the battle. It's a freaky experience for the underachiving high school student, but it gets even freakier when he opens his eyes and finds the girl from his dream lying in bed with him!

The girl is called Mone, and it probably isn't a coincidence that her name's one letter away from "moe". Allthough she's a battle-hardened warrior in Tomokazu's dream world, in real life she's moe personified: kind, innocent, eager to please and sassy without being too sassy. The cuteness factor is further amplified by her speech - although she can understand people just fine, the only word she can say is "mone", which she inflects and stretches out like a cat lounging in the afternoon sun. Put all those assets together, and you've got a package that would make any lonely anime viewers heart melt all over his collection of Sailor Moon figures.
