Good Manga Reads
A couple series I liked that you don't have listed:
Hunter X Hunter (li'l bit of a Naruto vibe)
Chronicles of the cursed sword (fantasy)
Ragnarok (fantasy/mythology)
Tsubasa
X/1999 (this of course may be because I'm hopelessely obsessed with the clamp titles ^_-)
and I'll second Remote
I'd like to thank you all for your inputs. You have given me something to do while I install stuff on the hard drive of my new computer. There is nothing like waiting for Windows Update to finish downloading something like 40 critical patches...
I had a hard time tracking down a lot of the stuff you mentioned here in town. It wouldn't have been too much of a problem if I wanted to read the latest volume in the series. Unfortunately, I'm kind of anal when it comes to reading things in order...
I did get a hold of volume 5 of 'Blade of the Immortal' and I think I really like the series now. Rheytarian, you were right to give it another volume. I think the way that Manji and Rin dealt with the guy's son really sold me on the series...
I also read the first volume of 'Remote' thanks to JWR and Crackpot27 suggestions. I found it to be a good read and wanted to read the next volume because of the way the first volume ended. This is a good sign that I'll like the series a lot...
I found the first volumes of both 'Ai Yori Aoshi' and 'AI Love You' to be very cute. I have a hard time imagining 'Ai Yori Aoshi' being in the same anthology as 'Berserk'. I'm not sure if they were printed in 'Young Animal' at the same time, but it would be interesting to see two extremes in the same volume...
As for my own choices, I only got my hands on the first volume of 'Full Metal Panic'. I found it interesting that all the stuff I love about 'Fumoffu' was in the beginning of the manga. In fact, most of what was in the beginning of the original anime wasn't introduced until the end of the first volume. I think I like Kaname a lot more in the manga than her animated version...
I also finally got in a copy of 'Cafe Occult' which I found myself liking the art quite a bit. While this is a Korean series, it still seems very anime influenced and was interesting enough for me to go and special order the next volume...
I think the next round of suggestions I'm going to check out will include 'X/1999'. I've never read anything Clamp because I'm not too big on their art. I did rather enjoy the 'X/1999' TV series, so I'm hoping that it will make me enjoy the manga.
I also will try to give ?Hunter X Hunter? a try. One of my friends has been trying to talk me into watching the series for quite some time. According to him, if I don?t like Killa immediately, than it probably isn?t worth continuing the series. He said Killa makes the whole series worthwhile?
I'm glad that you like BoI now. The story only gets better!
I grew a tiny branch and picked up the first volume of the 'Vampire Hunter D' novels. It's not manga, but definately a great story to read. I can't wait for #2 to come out soon.

The 3 mangas Im collecting and currently reading right now are Kare Kano (romantic comedy), One Piece (if you enjoy Naruto you'll love it!) and SuikodenIII (based on the videogame)--
theyre all quite good! ^_^
I just didn't care for the way Kare Kano ended as an anime so I cont. reading it from volume 8 on and Im totally addicted! Which reminds me.. I need to pick up the next 2 volumes Im missing *_*
And One Piece is just great! If you can get pass the artwork I highly recommend it, its hilarious XD
Im a huge Suikoden rpg fan! So I couldn't pass up reading the manga thou it is word for word and panel for panel of what goes on in the videogame but its a great way to see what the game is like if you don't have 60 hrs to spare ^_~

Picked up a new read after sitting in on the Tokyopop panel at AX featuring the writer/artist team that goes by Peach-Pit. We picked up the 1st 3 books of DearS and are now hooked. The Anime is just out but is somewhat diferent than the manga but still enjoyable.
