Judge forbids abortion for a 13jear old

On a duch speaking forum, there's a hot discussion going on. The question is: did the judge judge right? I'm quite moved by that discussion and appalled about certain opinions spoken there.

A 13 jear old girl wanted an abortion of her 3 months long pregnancy.
The judge said that at 13, she's too young to take such "big medical decisions".

Well, I say: she's too damn young to be pregrant at all!! 13? She's still wet behind her ears! Plus, although I was horny at 14, I think 13 is very young to have sex out of your own free will. In other words, I wouldn't argue that she was raped.

Now why should a young girl be put through giving birth with that immature body of hers (mind the risks) AND having to love a baby that is the result of her being raped? Many people defend the judgement saying abortion is murder. But what's worse? Dwstroying an unborn life, or destroying a young girl's life?

Even if she wasn't raped but had careless sex, I think that birth and mothership is out of proportion as a punishment.

I'm sorry to say I think it's better to sacrifice that unborn child instead of ruining that girl's life.

What's your opinion on this? Keep in mind she's only 13.

Definately not a good topic to start discussing here. Pro-life and pro-choicers definately get ugly with each other.

Personally, I hate people telling me what to do with my own body. ESPECIALLY the gov't.

Gettin ugly with each-other isn't necessary as long as noone acts the age of the person in question ;)

What I forgot to mention: her parents have no say in the matter as the state has taken over the custody for the girl. So the parents are out of the matter, and the state is in power.

I agree with you, no government should have the right to decide about your body.

I would stress no mater which side of this kind of debate one is on. The Rubberslug Forum which is dedicated to Anime related themes is not the place for such a debate. If you come accross such items in the future please put them in your weblog rather than a forum thread.
