Trees Louise that is expensive!
last modified: Friday, December 28, 2007 (9:21:50 PM)
Basically I own a rather comfy single family home in a subdivision that is overrun with large oaks, trees that is. An as a matter of fact there is a rather large decaying tree close to my single family dwelling. Said tree is....... well for lack of a better word dying. Said tree will also fall at an angle that is not so pleasant for me to have to deal with. This tree is going to crush my home. Apparently the schematics of this bastard is 75-ft tall and 7-ft in circumference. Also weighing in at 64lbs per square foot. Long story short it needs to be removed. I am currently taking offers, so far my best estimate is ..... drum roll please...... $3,850.00. So we are starting a fund please send money via paypal to stufaro@mac.com. Any donations are welcome even if its not a lot. lol.

That''s a preposterous sum. Is there room for this tree to be felled? Making a tree fall exactly where you want it isn''t that much of a problem really for an experienced logger, but I can imagine it''d be a bit of a problem if there''s no room for it to fall.

Also, the tree itself should be somewhat valuable. Some loggers would pay -you- in order to cut it down and process it into lumber.

Anyway, good luck with everything!

Trees are always a huge annoyance. I had some "small" (less than 16" in diameter) trees moved last year. At $400 each, it added up quickly. Not to mention that the tree movers tore up my lawn with their large trucks...

Good luck.

To bad it''s not in danger of threatening some power lines. Then the power company could just come over to remove it for you! :P

Yep, that figure doesn''t surprise me a whole lot >_<. I know someone who recently had to take down two very old very large evergreens in their backyard (that were in danger of destroying their home as well) and it cost them about $8,000. Crazy!
